Shravan Parsi is an entrepreneur and innovator with a background in the diverse fields of real estate investing and pharmaceutical research. His experience as a pharmaceutical scientist drives his systematic approach to multifamily and commercial real estate investing. Shravan has been involved in Texas real estate since 2003 and acquired 21 apartment complexes and several commercial properties, by co-investing with private equity groups, family offices, high-networth individuals and accredited investors.
Shravan Parsi is the CEO & Founder of American Ventures. With a forecasted pipeline of $250 million in planned acquisitions for 2019, American Ventures is positioned for aggressive growth. Born in India, Shravan Parsi developed a life-long interest in business and investing from watching his father, a medical doctor, invest in real estate. He made his first real estate investment in Texas in 2003. He holds a master’s degree from St. John’s University in New York and a bachelor’s degree from Manipal Academy of Higher Education.
Shravan Parsi’s first book, The Science of the Deal: The DNA of Multifamily and Commercial Real Estate Investing, published by Forbes Books, was published in July, 2019 and more detailed about the book can be found on The Science of the Deal website. Forbes is considered to be the market leader in business print and digital media. The Austin American Statesman featured Shravan as a value investor for his CRE investment adjacent to the Formula 1 Race Track prior to the inaugural US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. He is a featured speaker at Texas CEO Magazine’s Enlightened Speaker Series event. Shravan is a member of Tiger 21 and Central Texas Angel Network (CTAN) and a past member of Entrepreneurs Org (EO).
Director of Acquisitions
Jameson heads American ventures acquisitions and disposition strategy. His responsibilities identifying and sourcing acquisitions as well as building broker and lender relationships, evaluating returns on potential acquisitions and supporting capital raising efforts with family offices and high net worth individuals.
Prior to American Ventures Jameson was on the investments team for AMR Capital a real estate private equity firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas. At AMR Capital Jameson identified three Texas storage acquisitions directly through owner, underwrote, created the business plan and ran the execution process for these deals. (including securing debt for these acquisitions) Jameson also underwrote and vetted over 100
deals (Over $1B in GAV) within 5 different real estate sectors.
Previously, Jameson worked for Daiwa House Texas, which is a real estate investment partner specializing in joint venture multifamily and mixed-use developments throughout the U.S.; Daiwa House Texas has also financed developments through construction and mezzanine debt. He worked on the entirety of the deal process and management on select projects, assisted in the acquisition, development and disposition of 1,598 multifamily units grossing over $785M in net proceeds, assisted in the placement $753M of equity commitment and $890M of debt, underwrote and evaluated over $4 billion of product spanning across the United States and underwrote/assisted in equity/debt placement for the development Atelier and also spear headed the buyout process of JV entity interest for Class A High Rise in downtown Chicago.
Jameson is heavily involved in TREC (Texas Real Estate Council) and other outside organizations. He also received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University double majoring in Finance with Real Estate emphasis & Entrepreneurial Management.
Director of Operations
As Director of Operations for American Ventures, Mark oversees the development of systems, defines workflows, and drives value within team and across the entire portfolio.
For over 15 years, Mark Hansen developed disciplined operational skill sets within the United States Army and continues to develop his competencies within multifamily value-add shops.
Prior to joining American Ventures, Mark assisted in the development of his former company NAPA Ventures, at the time of hire owning $75 million under ownership to just over $325 million over a 3-year span. His contributions, in part, were the workflow systems, financial analysis and personnel development processes that he implemented which allowed for such a hyper focused growth.
As a US military-operations veteran, he is no stranger to executing long- and short-term strategies. While he was with the US Army, he developed the ability to communicate across many different platforms, and decide and direct priorities to his team.
When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children. Adventure traveling, both short and long stints of any variety, is pleasurable for him. A good whiskey and a grilled/smoked anything is his preference.
Sondra Wenger is a Senior Managing Director and Head of Commercial Real Estate at CBRE Global Investors. Ms. Wenger is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience for top-tier institutions, including CIM Group, General Electric, Equity Office Properties and AMB (now Prologis). Each firm has a national/international presence in which she was responsible for strategizing, developing and executing the real estate investment strategy. Over her career, she has sourced, negotiated and closed over $10 billion of transactions in 35+ different cities. She has been involved in an array of transactions including equity and debt positions in stabilized, value-add, opportunistic, infrastructure and opportunity zone investments in office buildings, retail, apartments, condominiums, industrial, data centers, cold storage, hotels and mixed-use assets through direct and joint venture investments.
Ms. Wenger is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), serves as Membership Chair on the Executive Board for the Urban Mixed-Use Development Council, is a member of the ULI Capital Markets Council and is a mentor for the ULI Young Leader partnership program. She is a frequent speaker at real estate conferences, sharing her experiences, expertise and perspective in today’s highly competitive market.
Ms. Wenger has received several recognitions including Bisnow’s LA Power Women (2019), NAWRB Commercial Leader Award (2019), US House of Representatives Commercial Leaders Award (2019), Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com Women of Influence for Investment Professional and Mentor of the Year (2019), CEO Today Business Women of the Year (2018), Bisnow national article for Women in Finance (2018), Allen Matkins LA Power Women (2017) and Real Estate Forum Women of Influence (2014).
Ms. Wenger graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of California, Riverside and was a California Certified Public Accountant (1994-2009).
Thomas C. Washmon
President and General Counsel
Thomas C. Washmon is President and General Counsel of Privateer Capital Management, LP, a closely held, multi-strategy private investment platform headquartered in Austin, Texas. Prior to joining Privateer Capital, Tom practiced law for fifteen years and was a partner in several law firms acting as a strategic advisor to clients in various matters including corporate law, governance, real estate, asset protection, and litigation.
In his leadership capacity at Privateer Capital, Tom serves on the Board of Directors of two of Privateer Capital’s portfolio companies, the Lucena Group, LLC, a global risk management company and Grey Rock Energy Partners, a Dallas based private equity firm focused on the lower and mid-market of non-operated working interests in oil and gas, with more than $450 million of assets and committed capital under management.
Tom was born in the Rio Grande Valley and is a sixth generation Texan. He is a graduate of The Hill School and received a B.A. in European History from Washington and Lee University. After college, he attended the Institute on World Legal Problems at the University of Innsbruck, Austria and received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law. In addition to Tom’s many business responsibilities, he is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children.
